Jim Anderton will speak about his February 2025 trip to the Sax-Zim bog and other locations in northern Minnesota. His talk will recap his experiences and excite us with his outstanding photography. Jim a member of Choctawhatchee Bay Audubon Society. He is an avid birder and coordinates their Annual Christimas Bird Count. Long known among serious birders as THE place to find the Great Gray, other Northern Owls and Ginches in winter. The Sax-Zim Bog is described a “magic mix” of habitats that attracts a unique array of species not found in other parts of the United States. The Great Gray Owl in the figure was photographed at the Sax-Zim Bog and appears on the Friends of The Sax-Zim Bog website.

The 2024-25 season has ended. We are breaking for the summer. The montly birdwalks at Camp Helen will continue through the summer. The Board will be busy planning for our 2025-2026 activities. Check here often for updates.
