Birding at Majette Park

Join us for Birding at Majette Park.  Located on John Pitts Road off U.S. Hwy 231,  This park is the old Bay Dunes Golf Course, which has been converted into a walking park and disc golf course. If you want to carpool or caravan to the park, meet at the Panama City Mall on the north side of Dillard’s parking lot (near 23^rd St.) by 7:20 am to leave at 7:30 am.  If you wish to drive directly to the park, it is located on John Pitts Road.  Instead of turning into the main entrance to Majette Park, proceed a little further down John Pitts Road to the next small, paved road to the right and park in the parking area up the hill.  That’s where we will meet. Some of the walking paths are paved but some may be muddy, depending on the weather. We will be walking on dirt and grass most of the time. Last year we saw two Vermilion Flycatchers at the park.  The male Vermilion is shown in the photo.
