THE EXHIBIT

Bay County Audubon, partnered with The Light Room, will hold the 2025 Nature Photo Exhibit at the FSU Panama City Holley Center on March 8, at 5:30 p.m. Here is your chance to give us your “Best Shot,” your very favorite nature-themed photo! Join us for this unique event with friends and family for a ”Nature photos movie night.” Photos will be displayed as a digital slideshow/movie and, possibly, at various BCAS events, including Earth Day, and its website and at The Light Room.

Our purpose in this Exhibition is to inspire community awareness of nature, by sharing your favorite nature photos, any nature subject “from birds to the total environment,” with everyone else in attendance, to promote the need for conservation in Bay County and its surrounding counties.  When we share, we all become more aware of nature’s beauty.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

Complete and sign your Entry Form at https://form.jotform.com/243024122793046. 

Before uploading photo files, rename each photo file as follows: Lastname.firstname.title.location.jpeg (e.g. smith.joe.birdinflight.majettepark.jpeg). 

Click on the following link to upload your photos to WeTransfer at https://we.tl/r-afExIABVyH. You are not required to create a WeTransfer account; simply enter your email address in the  “uploads” box and add your photos.  If you are having difficulty uploading to WeTransfer, you may forward you photos by email to PhotoExhibit@baycountyaudubon.org as a last resort.

RULES:

-Open to all ages and to residents of Bay, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Jackson, Calhoun and Gulf Counties. All levels of expertise (amateur, hobbyist and professional and student submissions). 

-Entries should be submitted online; you do not need to print and frame your photos. Submissions are free and, depending on the number of participants, they may be juried before presentation in a digital slideshow to be screened on FSU’s large, high-definition screen at the Holley Center.   

-Deadline for entries is January 8, 2025; however, we will close submissions if we reach 300 participants. 

-Please submit photos in JPEG format and rename each photo file as follows:  Lastname.firstname.title.location.jpeg (e.g. smith.joe.birdinflight.majettepark.jpeg).   

-Participants may submit up to three Nature photos, with at least one photo taken in the Florida Panhandle. 

-All photos must be at least 1mb and no more than 6 mb and in jpeg format.

-Photos taken with a cell phone may be submitted.

-Editing is allowed but must represent the actual scene photographed.  

-Please review the North American Nature Photography Association rules of ethics here.

All participants under 18 years of age must submit parental permission.  Parent consents to photo submissions, as part of a digital slideshow, being displayed as part of Bay County Audubon Society activities and its website and at The Light Room.
