Trips are subject to weather and last-minute changes. There are no rain dates. Birds and Brews events involve some birding followed by an optional visit to a local pub or restaurant. For All Trips: Please be courteous by talking softly and not talking on your phone while others are trying to see or hear birds. Please stay behind the trip leader and try to stay together as much as possible. Please stay on the trails to avoid damage to native vegetation and to avoid hazards like fire ants.
 
BCAS field trips are free* and open to the public. Remember: Use proper birding etiquette, stay on the trails, limit talking while others are trying to hear birds, bring sunscreen, insect repellent, walking shoes, snacks and drinks. September 13, 2025 Beginner Bird Walk  Panama City Garden Club 810 Garden Club Drive 7:30 am. Bird Sit available. Binoculars & refreshments. Meet at the parking lot in front of building.  Learn more. 

Saturday, September 27 Camp Helen Bird Count 6:00am

Saturday, October 18 – Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas Fall birding.  Meet at 9:15am Eastern time (8:15 Central) at Frank Pate Park in Port St. Joe. We hope to see some migrating birds, including hawks, and lots of shorebirds along the bay and Gulf front.  Allow about 1 hour to get to St. Joe from Panama City.   We will also walk the boardwalks at Salinas Park on the southside of the bay.  Expect easy walking along paved paths, grassy and sandy areas and boardwalks. Afterwards we will eat lunch in Port St. Joe.  We should be back in Panama City by 3:30pm.

Tuesday, October 21 Birds and Brews. Lake Caroline 4:00 p.m. Meet at the Asbell Park parking lot, off Beach Drive. We will take a leisurely walk around the small lake and bay shore looking for birds. Afterwards, we will drive to the Little Village in St. Andrews for good food, drink, and socializing. Accessibility is easy on paved roads.

Saturday, Nov. 8. Lynn Haven Bayou Park & Preserve with native plant society. 8:15. Meet at Parking West lot, the third parking area, with playground.
